Wizards’ Rookie Alex Sarr Has Dreadful Performance In Summer League

    By Cole Sullivan,

Washington Wizards first-round draft pick Alex Sarr had a night to forget on Tuesday after a dreadful performance in the Las Vegas Summer League in a loss to the Detroit Pistons

Sarr finished the game with zero points, shooting 0-15 from the field, 0-7 from three, 0-2 from the charity stripe, and three turnovers.

As a whole, Sarr has been fairly productive in the Summer League up until this point, showcasing his elite rebounding, shot blocking, and rim protection.

However, offensively, Tuesday night just wasn’t his night, and that happens. His upside is still immense, and oftentimes people read too much into the statlines during the Summer League. Overall growth, comfortability, and development are the most important.

The Wizards selected Sarr with the 2nd overall pick, drafted right after Zaccharie Risacher, who was taken by the Atlanta Hawks. Sarr will be back in action Thursday night against the Sacramento Kings.
