ASHBURN, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Washington Commanders confirmed to DC News Now Jason Wright is out as the team president.

Wright is expected to remain with the team through the 2024 with similar duties focusing on a naming right deal and a potential new site for a stadium.

When Wright joined the organization in 2020, he became the first black president in NFL history.

Wright helped guide the franchise through several key moments, including a rebranding, and the sale of the team to Josh Harris and his ownership group last summer.
