    Stolen dog reunited with owner, DC police say

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — A dog that was reported stolen on Saturday was reunited with its owner, police said Friday.

    The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that the victim left her dog and her purse in a car in the 1900 block of M St. SE just before 1 p.m. on Saturday.

    When she returned, both her dog and her purse were missing.

    MPD provided an update on Friday that said that the dog — a 2-year-old Shih Tzu named Theo — had been found and reunited with his owner.

    Police did not say whether any arrests had been made, but they did identify a person of interest. MPD said the person’s vehicle is a black Hyundai Elantra with tinted windows and chrome rims. It was last seen with Georgia tags DAA7179.
