An Attorney In Khakis Jumped In To Save A Burning American Flag During Anti-Israel Protests In DC

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear khakis. Massive protests broke out in Washington DC yesterday amid a visit from Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with anti-Israel protestors taking to the streets for demonstrations that quickly turned destructive. The activists clashed with police, spray painting pro-Palestinian graffiti on monuments and buildings before removing American flags at Union Station and replacing them with Palestinian flags. https://twitter.com/rawsalerts/status/1816199004935393498 But amidst the chaos, one man decided to jump into action to try to stop the rioters from desecrating the red, white and blue. As protestors lit an American flag on fire, a man in khakis and a white button-up shirt ran up and grabbed the smoldering flag from the fire, taking off from the crowd with the burning flag in his hand as the crowd began chasing after him. Badass. The man was later identified as an attorney who works nearby, and while he wished to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, he expressed his regret that he wasn't able to save more of the flag: "I'm ashamed I didn't stop and go back and get the rest of it."
