“How you would allow Hamas people to deface statues and buildings, to take down the American flag off a train station and to burn the flag and then put a Hamas flag up, that was a complete disgrace,” DeSantis said while speaking in Aventure Thursday.

Officers deployed pepper spray after some of the crowd had become “violent” and had “failed to obey” orders to move back from the police line, U.S. Capitol Police said on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
“Why aren’t those people being arrested and prosecuted? I know they did that in other situations, but they don’t wanna do it in this one,” DeSantis continued, referring to the multiple arrests and prosecutions of Americans who participated in the January 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol.
DeSantis also criticized Vice President Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, for failing to appear for Netanyahu’s address.
“You have the leader of one of our strongest allies for my whole lifetime speaking in front of Congress, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and yet Kamala can’t go there and greet him?” DeSantis asked.
On Thursday, Kamala Harris posted to X condemning the “unpatriotic protestors and dangerous hate-fueled rhetoric.”
“I support the right to peacefully protest, but let’s be clear: Antisemitism, hate and violence of any kind have no place in our nation,” the vice president said in her statement.
Biden and Netanyahu are expected to meet Thursday. Vice President Harris is also scheduled to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister on a separate day.
