The Washington Commanders are more than familiar with Dallas Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons.

Not only does Parsons get after Commanders passers twice a year in the NFC East, but he’s also got a close connection with new Commanders head coach Dan Quinn.

Quinn, after all, oversaw Parsons’ rise to superstardom as Cowboys defensive coordinator, helping him reach 40.5 sacks over the last three seasons, with 13-plus each year.

The topic has inevitably come up with Parsons, who decided to take a tough-love approach.

Jon Machota of The Athletic captured his thoughts: “He still checks in on me. That’s still my big uncle, someone I love very much. But at the end of the day, I got a job to do. And that’s kick his a– twice a year. We can hug afterwards.”

If nothing else, Parsons’ comments add a little spice to a rivalry that has seen the Commanders win once in six tries since he entered the league under the supervision of Quinn.

Now, the new head coach must find a way to slow Parsons if rookie passer Jayden Daniels is to stand any chance at getting the Commanders back on track in the rivalry.
