Threat to democracy? Republicans didn’t cause violence after Trump was almost killed

MAGA Republicans have been constantly demonized in this country's recent political discourse. Democratic politicians have regularly labeled the group as a threat to democracy . It is a daily part of their rhetoric. Yet, a pragmatic analysis of recent events will show that is not true. While Democrats like to habitually bring up the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, they always seem to ignore the stream of violence and destruction their acolytes have caused in recent days, weeks, months, and years. This is done on purpose.

The agents of political violence are on the Left, not the Right. The difference in response between recent events at Washington Union Station and the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump is the latest example of why.

It was an all-too-familiar scene: Left-wing activists and acolytes destroying American flags, landmarks, and properties. This was the scene at Union Station last week. Violence, chaos, and destruction are core tenets of the Left’s contemporary political playbook.

It’s why you saw those activists burning American flags and vandalizing monuments. It’s also why you didn’t see MAGA Republicans or Trump supporters rioting or causing violence after the assassination attempt on the former.

The destruction at Union Station was just the latest example. It comes after months of criminal left-wing political behavior on college campuses that included storming and breaking into buildings, vandalizing campuses, assaulting officers, and attempting to intimidate those who disagreed with their views and ideologies. Yet, none of these behaviors were replicated by MAGA Republicans or Trump supporters in response to an attempted murder of a presidential candidate and the actual murder of a volunteer fireman in attendance, Corey Comperatore.

Again, as mentioned above, many will try to portray the Jan. 6 riot led by Trump supporters to portray them as bad, evil people. Yet, that riot was an outlier, a one-off, a rare occurrence. Liberals, Democrats, and others on the Left have been the consistent agitators and purveyors of violence.

The differences in behaviors and responses make it relatively easy to determine who the good and bad guys are in the current political discourse. And, as a hint, those who burn flags, vandalize monuments, storm buildings, assault police officers, or try to physically intimidate people with different opinions are the bad guys, not the people who expressed shock and anger after an assassination attempt but didn’t riot.

But it’s not just the recent incident at Union Station, the chaos on college campuses in the spring, or the rioting of antifa or Black Lives Matter in recent years. Violence and destruction are integral weapons and tools of the Left’s global network. Consider the recent elections in France. After the Left initially lost in the first round of elections, they once again turned to violence and destruction, rioting across the country. Despite the worldwide characterization of the dangers of the so-called “far Right” winning in the country, it was left-wingers who caused violence and destruction and threatened democracy.

There was no injustice, and there weren’t any social calamities that needed attention. Left-wingers were just upset that people thought a different way and voted against them in a free and fair election. This is what they do, and this is what the Left is all about. They have become the very threat they deceived and feared people into worrying about. And the truth is, the Left was the real threat to democracy all along.
