The claim: Photos show Jill Biden in Washington, DC, and Paris at the same time
A July 29 Instagram post ( direct link , archive link ) includes two images of first lady Jill Biden. One shows her hugging a man and wearing a white shirt with red and blue stripes. The other shows her standing behind President Joe Biden and wearing a blue suit.
"THEY ARE GETTING SLOPPY," reads text above the images in the post, which is a screenshot of a post on X, formerly Twitter. "Jill Biden in Paris ALONE, more than an 8 hour trip away, AND at the White House with 'Joe Biden' AT THE SAME TIME."
The post was liked more than 100 times in two days.

Jill Biden wasn't in the U.S. and France at the same time. The images show the first lady with the president in Washington, D.C., on July 24 and then in Paris the next day.
Jill Biden accompanied president at White House before flying to Paris Olympics
On July 24, Joe Biden addressed the nation from the Oval Office at about 8 p.m. EDT regarding his decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential race. He then greeted administration staff in the Rose Garden at the White House the same evening, according to a photograph posted to the White House's official Flickr account.
The Instagram post includes an image of Jill Biden accompanying Joe Biden in the Rose Garden that evening. Shelley Greenspan , the White House liaison to the American Jewish community, posted footage from the greeting on X at 9:17 p.m EDT July 24 that matches the scene in the Instagram post.
Jill Biden then flew to France as scheduled to lead the U.S. presidential delegation for the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics, according to news reports . The Instagram post includes an image of Jill Biden deplaning in France. Vanessa Valdivia , press secretary to the first lady, posted a photograph of Jill Biden walking down the plane's stairs on X the next day, matching the scene in the Instagram post.

"Wheels down in Paris, where @FLOTUS has just arrived," Valdivia wrote in the post, which was shared at 5:22 a.m. EDT July 25. "She’s leading the U.S. delegation for the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics."
The Instagram post provides no evidence supporting the claim that the images of the first lady were taken at the same time.
The Instagram user who shared the post did not immediately respond to a request for comment. An attempt to reach the X user who originally shared the post was not immediately successful.
