Dan Quinn is impressed with Commanders rookie tackle Brandon Coleman. Could he be a starter?

Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn is embracing the youth movement.  This is good news because the Commanders have some young stars who would like to be starters sooner rather than later.

During a recent press conference , Quinn talked about how rookie offensive tackle Brandon Coleman stood out at a recent practice session.  That led to the obvious follow-up question about Coleman and potential rookie starting quarterback Jayden Daniels.  Would Quinn consider starting both rookies?

Quinn did not mention each player by name, but he made a general statement about how he is approaching the 53-man starting roster and the starting lineup for the Commanders. The best performers in training camp will be the team's starting players, regardless of age or inexperience.

Coleman, the 23-year-old TCU product hailing from nearby Newport News, Virginia, was drafted in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.  He is taking advantage of first-team reps at camp because veterans Andrew Wylie and Cornelius Lucas have missed time.

Jayden Daniels is competing with Marcus Mariota for the starting quarterback role though it is not a heated battle, and indications are that it is Daniels' team when he is deemed ready.
