Lafayette Parish Council votes down mayor's emergency preparedness overhaul proposal
The Lafayette Parish Council on Tuesday voted down a proposal by Mayor-President Monique Boulet's administration to overhaul the region's emergency preparedness operations. "I'm disappointed," Boulet said after the council meeting. "This is something we need as a parish. We need to be ready. We are faced with uncertain disasters like we have never been before, and it's time for us to do something and to move."
