Search underway for missing man in Pointe Coupee Parish
POINTE COUPEE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A search team is looking for a man who officials say went missing from his hunting camp in northern Pointe Coupee Parish. Sheriff Rene’ Thibodeaux said Kennith Porche was last known to be at his hunting camp on Gus Lacey Road off Highway 417 in the Batchelor area. Porche has reportedly not been heard from since around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16.

Investigation into suspected Lockport meth dealer leads to multiple arrests
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office announced this week that an investigation into a local meth dealer has led authorities to four arrests. Sheriff Craig Webre said that an investigation into Mitchell Folse, 45, led narcotics agents to obtain arrest warrants and a search warrant for his residence on Mar Drive. On July 11, 2024, narcotics agents located Folse and took him into custody. Agents then proceeded to the Mar Drive residence to conduct a search with assistance from LPSO patrol deputies and detectives, as well as the Lockport Police Department.
