KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Those in the Kansas City metro have been warned to schedule outdoor activities for the morning or evening as an Ozone Alert has been issued. The Mid-America Regional Council has announced that its Air Quality Program has issued an orange ozone Action Alert for Monday, Aug. 26. This indicates an unhealthy amount of ground-level ozone is expected in the Kansas City metro.
Farmington Man Dies in Early Morning Crash
St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A 24-year-old Farmington man lost his life early Saturday morning when his pickup truck collided with a tree and a house. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal accident, which occurred at 3:50 a.m. on 100 Trap Rock Road in St. Francois County. The victim, Joshua D. Zaricor, was driving a 2015 GMC Sierra at the time of the crash.

Whatever good vibes the St. Louis Cardinals had after their brief three-game winning streak vanished on Saturday, as they lost 6-1 against the Minnesota Twins. Sonny Gray had a chance to not only keep the good times rolling for his team as they attempt to make an unlikely run to the postseason, but he had a chance to beat his former team as well. He wound up allowing five runs in six innings of work and was outpitched by Pablo Lopez who kept the Cardinals off the board entirely. St. Louis lost 6-0 and fell back below the .500 mark. The cherry on top was the Cardinals losing star catcher Willson Contreras due to injury.
De Soto to buy four more homes to be demolished for flood prevention
The city of De Soto will soon purchase and demolish four flood-prone homes, using funds from the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. The De Soto City Council voted 5-0 Monday to authorize City Manager Todd Melkus to purchase the four properties, seven months after the city was notified that it had been awarded state and federal funds and after completing the monthslong appraisal process.

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (KCTV) - Two individuals were seriously injured after a collision on Highway 50 north of Warrensburg left two cars in the ditch.
