Even though he was having a down year, Jeimer Candalerio was still quite offensively gifted as a player. Add that to the fact that he was a pretty good defender at the hot corner, and I view the Cubs decision to let him go, as a poor one. Especially given the fact, that they really did not have anybody else in their organization at the time, who was a good fit for third base. Anyways, this was just one of the many bad decisions made by the president of baseball operations, Jed Hoyer, who has a contract expiring, after next season. So, my only hope, is that him knowing that his tenure with the Cubs is on the line, that he goes out of his way this offseason, and makes the moves that a major market team should be making, and vastly improves this team, so that they are an instant contender next season. And if he does not do that, then he should absolutely be shown the door…Myself being a lifelong, diehard Cubs fan, for forty years, one championship is definitely NOT enough. We want more
