UPDATE: Law enforcement found and arrested Ryan Austin Stalls Monday on Cherry Run Road near Horse Pen Swamp Road in Washington. They responded to a suspicious person call and found a vehicle in a field off VOA Road, West of Brown Road.
They identified the vehicle as the one Stalls had been driving. Around 1:49 p.m., law enforcement saw Stalls come out of the woods and into a field on Horse Pen Swamp Road. After chasing Stalls, they took him into custody. Stalls was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries and released back to deputies.
He is jailed in the Beaufort County Detention Center without bond.
PREVIOUS: WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office are looking for a suspect after responding to a domestic assault call Friday in Washington.
Law enforcement responded to a home in Cherry Road Estates and found a female and child younger than 12 years old had been assaulted with weapons.
The suspect, 31-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls, left the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Both victims were transported by EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is still ongoing.
Warrants for felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon were taken out on Stalls. He also has an outstanding warrant for felony parole violation.
Stalls was last seen driving a dark blue, 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe with a 30-day registration tag. Law enforcement said additional charges will be coming.
