A longtime candy company is recalling a popular brand of chocolates sold in Washington State over undeclared ingredients, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday (April 2).

Abdallah Candies is voluntarily recalling a "limited" amount of its 8-ounce sea salt almond alligators for undeclared almonds. Officials said the packaging has an incorrect ingredient label that doesn't mention almonds.

People who have an allergy and severe sensitivity to almonds are at risk of suffering "serious or life-threatening" reactions if they consume these chocolates, the agency wrote.

The recalled candies have a chocolate-covered cherries label with code 0315 on the bottom of the box. These products were distributed to retailers nationwide from March 1 to March 29, the food safety alert reads. No other products from the company were affected.

The FDA urges anyone who purchased the affected chocolates to throw them away or return the product to its place of purchase for a refund.

Abdallah Candies hasn't been notified of any illnesses associated with the product as of Tuesday, according to officials.

Consumers with questions or concerns about the recall can call the company at 952-890-4770 or 800-348-7328. They're available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST.
