Before deputies arrived, the 35-year-old driver exited from a 2021 Dodge Durango and a friend took him to a nearby residence.

The man suffered a broken leg and other non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was traveling southbound on Miller Farm Lane at a high rate of speed and failed to maintain control of his SUV. He drove off the road and hit a small tree before going into the pond.
