President Joe Biden ’s foreign policy has been littered with disgraceful decisions that help authoritarians and terrorists alike. You can look to Venezuela for the latest example .

Biden’s administration cut a deal with Venezuela’s socialist dictator, President Nicholas Maduro, to lift U.S. sanctions on Venezuelan oil in exchange for the promise that Maduro would hold a free and fair election. As part of the deal, Maduro would allow other parties to run candidates and would allow international observers to oversee the election.

In a surprise to absolutely no one but the Biden administration, Maduro couldn’t be trusted. The Venezuelan president's Supreme Court banned his most popular challenger, and the Sunday results were delayed six hours before the government announced Maduro had won, even as exit polls and partial results showed otherwise. Maduro had rescinded invitations for international election observers, and Maduro’s government is now accusing the opposition of attempting to manipulate the results.

This naivete and weakness toward authoritarians has been normal for Biden’s presidency and administration, whether the country be Iran, North Korea, Russia, or China. It has also been the norm for Biden when dealing with terrorists and terrorist states, including Iran, the Taliban in Afghanistan, and Hamas in Gaza. It would be difficult to find an area of foreign policy where Biden has made the world safer or more respectful of human rights or has improved America’s standing as he has often boasted.

Biden has focused on diplomacy for the sake of diplomacy, empowering human rights abusers and terrorists who never intend on following through on the deals they “negotiate” with people they know to be weak, which Biden is. The result is Biden and his team expressing “deep concerns” about the Taliban murdering civilians or Venezuelan socialists stealing elections, as if anyone should be surprised that terrorists don’t stop acting like terrorists or dictators don’t stop acting like dictators just because Biden’s team tries to negotiate with them.

This is weakness, and it has defined Biden’s foreign policy since he first took office. He has turned the United States into a pushover power that doesn’t get results or uphold any moral standards, and authoritarians and terrorists have been reaping the benefits of that for four years.
