A Pennsylvania man was charged with illegally voting in two states during the 2020 presidential election .

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania announced that it filed five charges against Philip Pulley, 62, for falsely registering to vote, double voting, and election fraud. During the 2020 election, Pulley allegedly used a false Social Security number and address to register in Philadelphia despite already being registered to vote in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and Broward County, Florida. He proceeded to request a mail-in ballot from Philadelphia while also voting in Montgomery and Broward counties.

In the November 2022 elections, he voted twice in Pennsylvania, using his Montgomery and Philadelphia addresses.

Pulley was registered as a longtime Republican in Montgomery County but switched his party affiliation there last year. He registered as a Democrat in Philadelphia in February 2020, the Associated Press reported .

He voted in elections as a Democrat in Philadelphia in 2021, 2022, and 2023, according to the outlet.

Pulley has voted in Florida several times since registering in 2018.

Voting fraud has been a cause celebre for Republicans for years, particularly in the 2020 election, when former President Donald Trump claimed that it was the cause of his electoral defeat against President Joe Biden.
