Gas prices: Slight increase at the pumps

Gas prices rose ever so slightly on Tuesday, marking the first increase in over two weeks.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas increased to $3.444 on Tuesday, according to AAA. This was the smallest of increases from Monday’s price of $3.443. Both prices are less expensive than the average price of regular gas a week ago, when it cost $3.462 per gallon. Hawaii, on the other hand, has the highest gas prices in the country. However, this has been a recent development after California held this distinction for most of 2024. On Tuesday, the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $4.664. A week ago, gas in the Aloha State was $4.672, and a month ago, it was $4.691.
