It might not roll off the tongue like “Crooked Hillary” or “Sleepy Joe,” but as former President Donald Trump tries out a few of his patented nicknames for his newfound opponent, “ Comrade Kamala ” hits the nail directly on the head.
“Comrade Kamala Harris is terrible for our Country,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “She is a Communist , has always been a Communist, and will always be a Communist.”
Democrats might not like it, but Vice President Kamala Harris has a record littered with communism, and she is adding fuel to the fire as her presidential campaign takes shape. Harris was the most liberal member of the Senate during her tenure and campaigned to the left of progressive Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and self-described socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) when she ran for president in 2019.
Harris endorsed single-payer healthcare, a ban on fracking, and gun confiscation. Anonymous staffers have claimed that their boss has moderated these positions over time, but Harris refuses to answer any questions from the press on these or any other topics.
If there is any validity to the claim by her subordinates that Harris is matching Trump’s pivot toward the center, she has a funny way of showing it. Harris proposed a price control scheme straight out of Stalin’s playbook. She blames food prices, up 21% since she and President Joe Biden took office, on “corporate greed" to distract from the fact that basic essentials are unaffordable for millions of people due to inflation caused by government spending.
Catherine Rampell of the Washington Post, whose boss Jeff Bezos also happens to own the grocery chain Whole Foods, slammed the Harris campaign with the headline “When your opponent calls you ‘communist,’ maybe don’t propose price controls?”
Harris also chose to select a proud communist as her running mate. As far as governors go, Tim Walz of Minnesota is about as communist as it gets in North America. When Walz was a social studies teacher, he told students that Chinese communism is a system in which “everyone shares.” As governor, Walz told his fellow Democrats , “Don’t ever shy away from our progressive values. One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.”

In the ultimate demonstration of neighborliness, Walz locked down Minnesota hard during the COVID-19 pandemic and set up a “ snitch line ” so Democrats could call the police on their friends and neighbors if they went to church or to their places of employment. Walz even attempted to cancel Thanksgiving in 2020, prohibiting anyone outside of Minnasotans’ immediate family from entering their homes.
With proposals such as snitch lines, bread lines, and praise for the Chinese Communist Party, Harris and Walz have more than earned the communist label. The Trump campaign and Republicans should remind voters of the death and destruction that follows authoritarians like Harris and Walz wherever and whenever they have taken power over the last century. Today’s Democrats are led by dangerous aspiring tyrants, and we should be calling them out for what they are.
