Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is “prepared as anyone can be” in the event the 2024 general election winds up in the nation’s high court.

In a rare interview with CBS News’s Norah O’Donnell, which will be released in full this weekend, Jackson hinted at the Supreme Court’s preparedness should any element of the 2020 election wind up in the court.

“I think there are legal issues that arise out of the political process. And so, the Supreme Court has to be prepared to respond – if – if that should be necessary,” Jackson said .

“Are you prepared that this election could end up before the Supreme Court?” O’Donnell asked Jackson.

“As prepared as anyone can be,” Jackson said.

“Let me ask you, are you prepared for all of the news cycles that you’re getting as a result of this election?” Jackson asked, to which O’Donnell responded, “Um, no.”

President Joe Biden recently voiced his own concerns about the election after former President Donald Trump waged a false, monthslong conspiracy that the election was stolen from him in several states.

“If Trump loses, I’m not confident at all,” Biden said, alluding to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

The full interview will air Sunday, Sept. 1, on CBS News's Sunday Morning.
