California prioritizes illegal immigrants over its own citizens

California Democrats continue to prioritize illegal immigrants over their own citizens, even if they don’t have the money to do so.

The California State Senate is pushing forward a bill that would let illegal immigrants apply for the state’s first-time homebuyer program, which would give them access to up to $150,000 each for home down payments. Last November, it was revealed that just 15% of Californians could afford to buy a home, the lowest percentage since 2007. Now, illegal immigrants are going to be able to cut in front of California citizens for access to taxpayer dollars to buy homes.

Or at least, they will be able to, if the program is ever given any money again. In a testament to California’s handling of the budget and of governance in general, the program has no money. Democratic legislators declined to allocate any funds for it while dealing with a massive budget shortfall. The program burns money quickly; the first time around, it spent all $300 million it was allocated in less than two weeks.

Still, though, the intentions of California Democrats are clear. The party wants to give illegal immigrants homes using taxpayer money while those taxpayers themselves are priced out of homebuying with California’s lack of supply. This is not the only issue on which California Democrats are prioritizing illegal immigrants over citizens: Gov. Gavin Newsom is spending another $3.1 billion per year (again, during a budget deficit) of taxpayer money on state-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants, and another Democratic bill would allow illegal immigrants accused of violent crimes access to taxpayer-funded grants for legal assistance.

This isn’t exactly a surprise, given that California is a sanctuary state that sabotages efforts to deport illegal immigrants who commit crimes and endanger California citizens. Still, though, it is a pathetic display by the party running the state into the ground that it does not care about its own citizens. Worse still, this sends a message across the world that California prioritizes illegal immigrants , encouraging them to flock to the southern border and worsening the border crisis. Aside from Democrats in Washington D.C., California Democrats are the biggest culprits in the border crisis that is affecting communities on the southern border and elsewhere across the country.

California is the most horrendously run state in the country, the result of single-party rule from a party that would rather chart the ideological course of the nation than take care of the citizens it is tasked with governing. California’s disastrous policy decisions have left the state broke, left residents struggling, and created a national crisis on the southern border, and yet Newsom and his allies continue to boast as if their state is considered a success story in any area of policy.
