‘Who is Nick Offerman?’: Trump campaign dismisses new parody song supporting Harris

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign dismissed a new parody song released by actor Nick Offerman and suggested it “isn’t worth listening to.”

The song, titled "Kamalaman," is a parody of Lee Greenwood’s "God Bless the USA ," a song Trump has used at many of his rallies. Offerman, best known for roles in television shows such as Parks and Recreation and The Last of Us, states in his parody that he’s “proud to be a Kamalaman who’s quit the GOP.”

“Who is Nick Offerman?” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung asked the Washington Examiner. “If his song isn’t about Kamala being weak, failed, and dangerously liberal, then it isn't worth listening to."

Prior to the start of the song, Offerman says that a lot of Republicans are becoming “Kamala Curious,” which he said was “very exciting.” His comment was in reference to movements, such as " Republicans for Harris ," that have grown since Vice President Kamala Harris joined the 2024 presidential race.

While Offerman has publicly expressed his support for Harris, other celebrities are withholding their endorsement this election cycle, including actor and wrestling superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson . The actor previously endorsed President Joe Biden in 2020, but he stated earlier this year that he would not be giving any endorsements this year.

Likewise, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes stated he wants voters to “do the research” ahead of the November elections rather than basing his vote on a celebrity’s endorsement. Mahomes did not provide any endorsement in the 2020 presidential election and indicated he has no plans to give one for 2024.
