Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), the Democratic vice presidential nominee, was caught on video quickly turning away when asked about the news of six hostages, including an Israeli American, who were found dead in Gaza.

The video, which has gone viral, shows Walz during a visit to the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday being pressed by a reporter for comment regarding the news of the hostages' deaths.

"What's your reaction to the six hostages being found dead in Gaza?" an unnamed reporter is heard asking Walz while he greeted supporters.

"All right," he said without answering and then turned around to leave.

"Thanks, everybody!" he said as he waved his arm goodbye to the crowd while walking away.

Numerous people, including conservative pundit Meghan McCain, were not pleased with Walz's reaction.

"Every time this man opens his mouth, I like him less," McCain wrote on X.

Walz was also seen on Sunday afternoon making social media videos praising Minnesota's pork chop on a stick.

Later on Sunday, Walz issued a statement responding to the news about the hostages killed by Hamas. He condemned the "brutal terrorist" group.

"The anguish of losing a child is something no family should have to endure. Gwen and I send our deepest condolences to the Goldberg-Polin family, after Hamas' murder of their son Hersh," he wrote on his X account. "Hamas is a brutal terrorist organization — and we condemn their continued atrocities against both Americans and Israelis in the strongest possible terms."

Trump War Room, which is former President Donald Trump's campaign X account, blasted Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday for dodging questions from the press.

"Yesterday: Tim Walz runs away from a question about dead hostages found in Gaza. Today: Kamala pulls the old 'I'm on my phone' trick to avoid the press. If it's too difficult for you to answer questions, you probably shouldn't be running the country," the campaign wrote .

Hamas terrorists killed six hostages last week, including 23-year-old Israeli American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, as Israel Defense Forces attempted to rescue them in the tunnels below Rafah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the tragedy. "He who murders abductees does not want a deal. We are in a difficult day. The heart of the entire nation was torn."

On Monday, President Joe Biden slammed Netanyahu when asked by a reporter whether the Israeli prime minister was doing enough to secure a hostage deal.

"No," Biden replied as he was returning to the White House after a two-week vacation in California and Delaware.
