Katie Britt calls for ‘answers’ from Harris on her leadership as vice president

Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) said Vice President Kamala Harris has not had to answer for her political history, citing a need for voters to know their candidates.

Britt was critical of Harris for avoiding the press and not giving “off-the-cuff” answers in any of her interactions with the media as a presidential candidate. The senator pointed out that voters are about to elect a commander in chief for the next four years, expressing frustration that Harris has largely been absent from the press.

“And they are not making Kamala Harris answer for any of the failed policies of which she has helped enact over the last four years,” Britt said on Fox News’s Hannity. “They’re not making her answer for the fact that she is being dishonest to the American people every time she does open her mouth about these policies and she changes direction, and we need some answers.”

Britt argued that ABC News anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis have the opportunity to obtain answers from Harris, as “that’s their job" in Tuesday night’s debate. However, she predicted that is “likely not what we'll see.”

Ahead of the debate, former President Donald Trump is expected to target his criticism against Harris’s political record in the Biden administration, as San Francisco district attorney, and as California attorney general. Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller argued that Harris is unable to defend her own record, which he said is made up of “dangerously liberal, liberal policy positions.”

Trump and Harris are neck and neck in battleground states , with the two tied at 48% in Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, and Nevada. Harris has slight leads in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, though it is still within the margin of error, which is plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.

Early voting is set to begin this month in a number of states , including Virginia, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Mississippi.
