Add handling a terrorist attack to the growing list of critical issues American voters prefer former President Donald Trump to handle.

On the 23rd anniversary of the three terrorist attacks that killed 2,977 on Sept. 11, 2001, likely voters sizing up the 2024 presidential candidates said they want Trump in the Oval Office in another attack.

Asked in a new Rasmussen Reports survey, “Which candidate would you trust more to protect America from a terrorist attack, Kamala Harris or Donald Trump,” voters chose Trump over Harris 52%-43%.

The survey followed a wave of others focused on issues that have given Trump the edge including on immigration, national security and the economy.

A post-debate survey conducted by CNN, for example, found that Trump expanded his lead on handling the economy over Harris to 55%-35%.

Rasmussen also found concerns that Americans are forgetting about 9/11 despite the annual memorials at the former Twin Towers site in New York, the Pentagon, and the Wall of Names near where United flight 92 crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Overall, according to the pollster, 48% said they believe many people have forgotten about the impact the attacks had on America, and 35% don’t.
