Springfield has bigger problems than empty threats

Recent coverage of Springfield, Ohio , bomb threats shows more misrepresentation by the media . After former President Donald Trump put a spotlight on the city during last week’s presidential debate, focus quickly shifted from the real problems residents face to the dangers Haitian immigrants face.

More than the plethora of hardships immigration has brought to the town, yet-unrealized anti-immigrant violence and reports that Haitians are “afraid to leave home” dominate journalists’ concerns.

Claims of pet killing have been chalked up to mere racism . In her comments to the National Association of Black Journalists, Vice President Kamala Harris mentioned only the “whole [Haitian] community put in fear.” It is likely that Haitian residents of Springfield feel unsafe. But flipping the script such that “the suffering of the people of Springfield” refers to a group of people warding off insults is not fair to the one suffering from housing and education inaccessibility.

Gov. Mike DeWine (R-OH) has stated that none of the bomb threats, which make up most of the perceived violence, have had “any validity at all” and that the threats have been made by foreign actors. Pieces that ignore DeWine’s clarifications are inconsistent with their allegiance to the Springfield city manager’s statement that there have been “no credible reports” of pet harm.

Of course, this is typical misdirection. In ignoring the difficulties caused by a massive influx of immigrants, the media can avoid the fact that no other place wants the same for itself. Liberal elites successfully moving illegal immigrants out of Martha’s Vineyard , Massachusetts, show their own spin on NIMBYism.

These same liberals will endorse Harris’s vow to build 3 million more homes as part of her housing plan. When push comes to shove, they will prefer quaint and spacious towns to cramming the unhoused in with them. These people support efforts that do not impede their own lifestyles and work in tandem with media that hide the unpleasantness.

Really, the Harris campaign, mainstream media, and wealthy Democratic constituents have been working together for a while. Making momentary immigrant plight overshadow residents’ long-term struggles is just another way they misguide public opinion.

But the houses won’t go to American citizens or homeless vets which is sad. Just keep spending our tax dollars to make it comfortable for immigrants. All I’m saying is if we go to war they better have to fight for us since we are providing a life for them and taking care of them

What the media won’t tell you is the Mayor and a Commissioner ( I believe ) has several rental properties in the area , has bought everything up and then evicts and moves in the Haitians and is overcharging me them to stuff money in his pockets .
