A federal judge agreed to let Hunter Biden delay sentencing Thursday in his first criminal case by three weeks, rescheduling the hearing for Dec. 4.

Biden was scheduled to face sentencing for a three-count felony conviction for illegally possessing a firearm while addicted to crack cocaine, but his attorney requested to delay the previous Nov. 13 date due to conflicts involving other legal disputes.

The request was approved by U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika despite opposition from special counsel David Weiss .

Defense attorney Abbe Lowell cited conflicts, including his scheduled representation of Biden in a civil lawsuit in California on Nov. 12.

Biden will also be sentenced on Dec. 16 in a separate criminal case after pleading guilty to nine tax-related charges earlier this month in California . With his guilty plea, Biden avoided a nearly two-week trial that would have included testimony from key witnesses, including his ex-girlfriends.
