Hezbollah announced on Saturday that it launched missiles from Lebanon toward the area of Jerusalem , a day after its leader was assassinated.

Shortly after 3 p.m. ET, the IDF posted on X that sirens went off near Jerusalem, primarily to the east of Israel's capital city.

One missile landed in the West Bank, specifically the area of Mitzpe Hagit, the IDF posted on Telegram. The IDF also said fire and rescue services were working to extinguish fires caused by the missile.

The missile launches come after Israel’s military assassinated Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in airstrikes in Beirut, Lebanon, on Friday. An Israeli military spokesman said the strike targeted Hezbollah’s “ central headquarters ,” which was located “under residential buildings in the heart” of Dahiyeh, in Beirut.
