Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) accused opponent Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX) of running dishonest campaign ads before their debate .

Allred and Cruz are three weeks away from the election, which could determine the party majority in the Senate. Democrats have the majority with 50 senators, plus Vice President Kamala Harris over the chamber.

"Colin Allred is doing what Kamala Harris is, which is lying like crazy. And $100 million buys you a lot of lies. He’s running ads with him in front of the border wall despite the fact that he calls the border wall that racist border wall that he pledged to tear down," Cruz said on Fox News's Hannity. "He has voted repeatedly in favor of boys competing in girls' sports. He’s voted repeatedly in favor of boys and grown men coming in girls' bathrooms, their locker rooms, their changing rooms."

Cruz was referring to the $100 million in campaign funds that Allred received from donors, namely Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). The Texas senator also referenced a letter Allred signed with 161 other House Democrats in September calling for the National Defense Authorization Act to remove its provision restricting gender-transition surgeries for members of the military.

"Colin Allred wants every military base in America to be able to fly the transgender flag above their bases. It is radical, and you know what he’s doing right now? He's got millions of dollars of ads on TV saying that’s not true. It’s all a lie," Cruz said.

Meanwhile, Cruz hasn't received any campaign funds from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Senate Republicans anticipate to replace McConnell as party leader after November's election.

The pair's only debate will be on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
