Podcast host Sage Steele blasted the Kamala Harris campaign for proposing what she referred to as "racist" policies that appear like handouts on the basis of race.

With the election less than three weeks away, Harris is scrambling to win 92% of the black vote as President Joe Biden did in 2020. Her efforts include fully forgivable business loans for black entrepreneurs and increased training programs for black men, among other things. the Ex-ESPN anchor told Fox News's America's Newsroom Wednesday how these policies come across as racist bribes.

"Because I think so often, black people are told, I mean, I’ve been told — you guys know my story a little bit — that if you look like this, you must vote a certain way, you must think a certain way and act a certain way and speak a certain way. That is racist in its own right," Steele said. "People know that it’s racist to say, 'I’m gonna give you this for free because the color of your skin.'"

Instead, Steele implied there are other issues that are more important to black people than looser regulations on marijuana , or further research into sickle-cell disease.

"I think so often the Democrats believe that black men and women, especially younger, are too stupid or lazy to do their homework," Steele said.

A New York Times/Sienna poll shows that 71% of black registered voters chose Harris for president. That statistic would be a historically low majority of black voters to pick the Democratic presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, the same poll showed Trump with 18% of black registered voters' support. That high of an approval rating approval rating would be a massive swing from the 2020 election .

In 2020, black voters made up 13.5% of all eligible voters. According to the Pew Research Center, they are expected to make up 14% in 2024.
