Saturday Night Live took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris ’s recent interview with Fox News , joking that it was an attempt at "a viral moment."

Harris is less than three weeks away from Election Day and is working overtime to edge out former President Donald Trump in the razor-thin contest. Harris recently reversed her media strategy to mirror that of Trump and has since appeared on several programs across radio, television, and social media to discuss her campaign. This came after a month in which Harris did not offer any interviews despite the brevity of her campaign.

"Madame Vice President, are you here to answer questions or just looking for a viral moment?" actor Alec Baldwin asked while portraying Fox News anchor Brett Baier during SNL's cold open.

"I am not looking for a viral moment," actress Maya Rudolph responded in her Harris impersonation. "See how I don’t let men interrupt my answers? Very demure. Very mindful."

Rudolph was quoting a TikTok account that went viral online. The phrase has since been trademarked due to its popularity.

"Now you're just throwing out memes," Baldwin responded.

"I’m here to reach across the aisle. Hundreds of Republicans have endorsed me because in the clerb, we all fam," Harris said, referencing a line from the series Broad City, which has since also gone viral online.

Meanwhile, a clip of Trump himself speaking went viral when users online turned it into a song. When Trump accused Haitian immigrants of eating pet dogs and cats during his debate with Harris, the clip subsequently became a song that TikTok users dance to.

The program has also taken aim at Harris's former running mate President Joe Biden . Dana Carvey made a return to portray the president. The excitement to impersonate these candidates is reminiscent of the several performers who tried their Trump impressions in past years.

Saturday's episode included SNL cast member James Austin Johnson's revered Trump impersonation. Johnson has portrayed the former president since joining the show, taking over for Baldwin.
