Woman Arrested After Attacking Patient at Somers Rehab Facility
SOMERS, N.Y. - An employee of The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has been charged with physically attacking a disabled resident, state police said. Jossette F. Thompson, 51, of Dover, was arrested on June 11 and charged with Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person, a Class E felony, police said.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER She was arraigned in Somers Town Court, released on her own recognizance, and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, July 22. "Thank God, the patient is fine," Paramount Administrator Mark Badolato said Monday, calling the alleged incident "extremely unfortunate" and adding that the employee "has been terminated." Haverstraw offers $5K reward for info leading to suspect's arrest in fatal shooting
HAVERSTRAW — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old man accused of fatally shooting Christian Alvarado on July 1. Police have re-released a wanted poster for Yandie Martinez with the $5,000 incentive to get information on his whereabouts. Police have sought Martinez for questioning since the 29-year-old Alvarado died from multiple gunshot wounds.
