The Muncy Shade Tree Commission recently planted a Princeton American Elm Tree at Waldon Park’s playground area. The tree was selected because it is a very fast growing tree. Linda Stein, a member of Muncy Borough Council, wanted a tree that would shade the tot lot at Waldron Park. Linda was instrumental in the tree design of the newly landscaped Waldron Park. This was the first large tree that the newly formed Muncy Shade Tree Commission has planted this year. In the midst of a heat wave, children in Montgomery got a chance to cool off and have fun in Heritage Park with a very special activity. On Saturday, July 13, the Montgomery Area Public Library hosted an event called Splash and Learn Fun with Firefighters. The activity was part of the library’s Summer Learning program. The program was held with the help of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Company. This year, it was also promoted by the Muncy Public Library.

Sunflower Festival returns to Muncy
Muncy, Pa. — Today Farm's annual Sunflower Festival is set to return Aug. 10. Susquehanna Mills Co., Today Farm & Market, and Bullfrog Brewery will be host the festival at Today Farm & Market, 215 Shady Lane, Muncy. A range of vendors, fun family activities, and food trucks will be available from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. People attending will have the opportunity to walk through the sunflower fields, pick their own sunflower, and find the best background for a photo.
