Washoe County Offering Escapes from Heat as Temperatures Soar
With the 4th of July approaching, northern Nevada is under an excessive heat watch. In response, Washoe County is offering ways for people to escape the heat. The Washoe County Human Services Agency will open the Washoe County Senior Center on Independence Day, extend hours on Friday and next week, and remain open through the weekend, according to a release from the county.
RTC offering free rides Thursday for the Fourth of July
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The RTC of Washoe County will be offering free rides on some lines for the Fourth of July. The free rides will be offered on the Lincoln Line from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Route 11 from 4:00 p.m. to midnight for the Star Spangled Sparks Fourth of July celebration at the Nugget.
