Rural township’s decision to reject proposed 400-acre gravel mine upheld by judge
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – A judge recently upheld the decision of a rural township to deny a zoning permit for a 400-acre gravel mine in southwestern Washtenaw County. Washtenaw County 22nd Circuit Court Judge Timothy Conners sided with Sharon Township, finding the township properly refused to grant the special land use permit for Michigan Materials and Aggregates Co., also known as Stoneco of Michigan.
