The real action was nearly five miles below the surface, where a 4.9-magnitude earthquake happened just west of the Scurry-Fisher county line. A few minutes later, and several miles to the northwest, another earthquake rumbled -- this time a 2.8-magnitude rattler. Three more earthquakes then followed in the same area, all within the same half-hour, according to data from U.S. Geological Survey.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - 50 Cent’s Humor & Harmony weekend is coming to Shreveport Aug. 8-11, and the city wants vendors to be ready. The city says G-Unit will select food trucks from the city’s vendor list; all vendors must meet city requirements and be permitted. G-Unit is also partnering with the Red River Revel to line up vendors at Festival Plaza. The city says banned vendors will not be allowed to set up without first going through the city’s permitting process.
Why Are Car Crashes in Shreveport Up Dramatically?
SHREVEPORT, LA - The latest numbers on problems on our roads is not good. Shreveport is seeing a dramatic spike in car crashes. These wrecks are happening all over the city. Police Chief Wayne Smith says we had just under 5,000 crashes in 2022 and more than 8,000 in 2023. Chief Smith says we are on pace to hit that 8,000 mark again this year. So far during 2024, there have been 4266 wrecks across the city.
