HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Two more names have been added to the list of people who died during and after Hurricane Beryl roared ashore in Texas on July 8. Motorists by the end of next month could be driving on the first piece of rebuilt Interstate 20 in Bossier City since the highway was laid nearly six decades ago. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development's I-20 reconstruction project in Bossier City hit a milestone earlier this month as contractors began pouring concrete to create new travel lanes. Though that is expected to be a long process, when the Old Minden Road interchange reopens — weather dependent — in mid- to late-August, the ramps will be the first new concrete open to drivers for that stretch of I-20 since its original construction in the 1960s.
