Tuberculosis Has Broken Out in Texas Prison System
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice acknowledges that tuberculosis has broken out in one of its largest prisons, the maximum-security John B. Connally Unit midway between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. “Since October 2023, seven inmates have been diagnosed with tuberculosis at the Connally Unit,” a TDCJ spokesperson told the Chronicle via email on July 12.

Shreveport Police were called to the scene of the Wendy's near the Pines Road Walmart at 11pm Wednesday (7/24/24) to reports of a carjacking. Upon arrival, SPD found the victim of the carjacking. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the complainant, who stated that a black male and black female pulled up to the drive-thru window. The black female opened the door as if she had a weapon and demanded money. The black male ran around the vehicle with a bag, demanding the victim put the money inside.
