In college football, so much of a program’s success on its 12 to 15 game days hinges on what goes on the rest of the year. While the NCAA transfer portal offers programs another avenue toward roster-building and talent acquisition, traditional recruiting of high school prospects never stops, and even as the focus is shifting toward the incoming season, those official visits in June have become commitment announcements in July and into August before players kick off their own senior seasons, particularly for scorching-hot Tennessee.
