Three people were arrested today in a Richmond County case where a man’s dogs were shot and left stacked on top of each other on the side of the road.

In the early morning hours of March 18, Bradley Stevens let his dogs Keno and Felon outside at his home in Haynesville. According to Stevens, they were contained in a fenced area. When he went to bring them back in a couple hours later, they were gone. He assumed they got out of the fence and ran off.

Later, Stevens received a call about dogs found across the county line on Ebenezer Rd. in Westmoreland. Stevens didn’t want to retrieve the dogs personally and sent his father who found one dog shot in the head and the other shot in the stomach.

Police immediately launched an investigation with the belief that the dogs were killed in a different location than where they were found, in large part, because there was not blood at the scene.

An update from Richmond County Sheriff’s Office announcing the arrests confirmed that suspicion. The “investigation indicated the dogs were killed, removed, and left in another jurisdiction,” the statement said.

Earvin Gray was arrested and charged with destruction of property, animal cruelty, and obstruction of justice. Two females, Alyssia Gallagher and April Henrickson, were arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, this case is still under investigation and anyone with information is still encouraged to share it.
