A 12-year-old Norfolk girl, Tiffany Maria Jackson, is missing. Norfolk Police Department said detectives are actively looking for her, and authorities are asking for the public’s help.

Jackson is described as 5’3’ and 125 with black medium-length dreadlocks and brown eyes. She was last seen at 6:45 a.m. on October 10 at her home on Amherst St. in Norfolk. At that time, she was earing a school uniform that included dark blue pants and a light blue shirt, according to information shared by Virginia State Police.

VSP issued a CODI Alert for Jackson today at 12:55 p.m.

The difference between a CODI alert and an AMBER alert is that with the latter, the child is believed to be a victim of abduction. A CODI alert is a situation where the disappearance is considered suspicious or poses a credible threat to the child.

Norfolk Police Department has determined this disappearance poses a threat to the health and safety of Jackson. NPD is describing her as a runaway and said detectives believe she may be located in Virginia Beach. The department is asking that anyone who knows where she is to call 911.

Individuals seeking information can contact the Norfolk Police Department at (757) 644-7000 or visit vsp.virginia.gov/active-alerts/
