KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Several roads in East Tennessee are closed due to flooding and damage caused by strong storms that passed through the region on Wednesday.

In parts of East Tennessee, the storms brought up to golf ball sized hail , strong wind gusts and heavy rain. In Claiborne County, a man died after a tree fell on a car. The powerful weather left behind flooding, damaged trees, and left some roads impassible.

Thursday afternoon, crews were out working along Wiley Oakley Drive in Gatlinburg to clear the rockslide. Along with the dirt, trees, and vegetation, the landslide also seems to have knocked down some utility lines. WATE captured a utility pole and a utility line laying across a cabin’s railing.
