    Burger King celebrates 70th birthday with a week of freebies

    ( WJET/WFXP ) – Burger King is celebrating their 70th birthday by giving away free items all week long.

    According to Burger King’s website , the popular chain was established on June 1, 1954.

    However, starting on Tuesday, May 28 (National Hamburger Day), the king will be celebrating early by giving away free items for an entire week.

    The week of freebies is as follows:

    • Tuesday, May 28 – Hamburger
    • Wednesday, May 29 – Croissan’wich
    • Thursday, May 30 – Medium soft drink
    • Friday, May 31 – Cheeseburger
    • Saturday, June 1 – Slice of Birthday Pie
    • Sunday, June 2 – Chicken sandwich
    • Monday, June 3 – Whopper Jr.

    In order to receive these free items, you must be a member of Burger King’s Royal Perks , which is their online reward program. You must also make a purchase of at least 70 cents each day to be eligible.

    “As we look to celebrate our milestone birthday this June, we are proud of the legacy this brand has built and on which we stand, and are beyond grateful for our royal guests who have made it all possible,” said Pat O’Toole, chief marketing officer for Burger King North America.
