    Robertsville Middle student facing charges, accused of threatening the school

    OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Robertsville Middle School student is facing juvenile charges after a threat was made against the school.

    The Oak Ridge Police Department began investigating after a report on Thursday that the student “threatened violence against the school and fellow student over a Facetime call.” The student was identified and charges were filed on Friday.

    ORPD added that there wasn’t an “immediate threat to the school.”

    “Making a threat to a school is a Zero Tolerance Offense. The district followed the Oak Ridge Schools Code of Conduct when pursuing discipline action against the student who made the threats,” wrote ORPD in a release.

    As a precaution, there was an increased police presence at Robertsville Middle School on Friday.
