    Final regular season game at Smokies Stadium to air live on 6 News: What to know

    KODAK, Tenn. (WATE) — Smokies Stadium in Sevier County will soon bid farewell to minor league baseball after more than two decades. Fans who can’t attend the Smokies’ final regular season game in person can watch it live on WATE 6 News.

    Coverage of the Smokies final regular season game against the Birmingham Barons on Sunday, September 15 will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a look back at the history of the team in Kodak and a preview of their new home in East Knoxville . The first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

    Construction of the $117-million multiuse stadium remains on schedule after more than a year of work. The 7,500-seat stadium will also host One Knoxville SC games , concerts, and many other events.

    Smokies season tickets for new Knoxville stadium set to go on sale

    On April 15, the Smokies will face the Chattanooga Lookouts in the first game at Covenant Health Park after starting the 2025 season on the road . This historic game will also be broadcast live on 6 News.

    The return to Knoxville will also see the team revert back to its original moniker of the Knoxville Smokies.
