ALCOA, Tenn. (WATE) — The Alcoa Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding two people who tried to set fire to a home on North Linden.

APD shared a video where two people can be seen driving past the house in a red truck, lighting a bag on fire and throwing it onto the victim’s porch. The department added that it is believed the two are juveniles. The video comes from a front porch camera and a garage camera on a house across the street from the victim’s home.

“The APD has a zero-tolerance policy for trying to set someone’s home on fire, and that’s what would have happened if the bag didn’t self-extinguish. Help us catch these two who think it’s okay to ruin someone’s home,” wrote APD on Facebook.

Anyone with information or additional video regarding this incident is asked to email Lieutenant Sparks at jdsparks@cityofalcoa-tn.gov or submit a tip to East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at (865) 215-7165.
