KPD said Tuesday morning that its detectives are “pursuing strong leads” in the shooting investigation, which began after a call reporting the shooting came in Monday, Sept. 16 at around 10:30 p.m. The shooting occurred at an apartment complex in the area of 1000 Canyon Oak Place.

Around that same time, KPD was notified of a gunshot victim arriving at the emergency room of the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

“The investigation revealed that the victim was walking towards his apartment when multiple rounds were fired at him in an apparent targeted shooting,” KPD stated in its Tuesday news release.

    The investigation remains ongoing.
