BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — Two men are facing charges after an investigation into illegal drug activity led the Blount County Sheriff’s Office and its SWAT team to search a home on Six Mile Road.

The sheriff’s office said the BCSO SWAT team conducted a search warrant at the home Tuesday morning. Inside the home, agents seized half an ounce of methamphetamine, roughly a quarter pound of marijuana, 1.3 grams of a suspected opiate, less than half a gram of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, according to BCSO.

The sheriff’s office added that investigators also found a vehicle that was reported stolen in Blount County.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators arrested Richard Martin Rogers, 53, and William Samuel Nelson, 36. Both men are facing possession of a Schedule II controlled substance for resale (methamphetamine) charge. Rogers has also been charged with possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance for resale (marijuana), simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (cocaine), and maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used or sold. Nelson also had four warrants for violation of probation on prior charges, BCSO said.

Rogers is being held on bonds totaling $32,500, and Nelson is being held on a $15,000 bond. They are anticipated in court on Wednesday, September 18.

BCSO added that charges are pending in relation to the stolen vehicle.
