    Missing Oak Ridge man found dead after Silver Alert issued

    MONDAY, Sept. 23 (UPDATE) — John Thomas, 63, was found dead after being the subject of a Silver Alert issued by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation over the weekend.


    OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has issued a Silver Alert for a man missing from Oak Ridge who was last seen on Thursday.

    According to the TBI, John Thomas, 63, was last seen on Thursday. Oak Ridge Police reported that Thomas was leaving for work at that time.

    Thomas is 6’3″ tall and weighs around 250 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He may be driving a white 2002 Chrysler 300 with the Tennessee tag 145-BJZQ

    Anyone who spots Thomas is asked to call the Oak Ridge Police Department at (865) 425-4399 or TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.

    Oak Ridge Police shared that Thomas was missing around 7:15 p.m., and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced that the Silver Alert was issued around 10:20 p.m.
